About the role
SENT is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Melbourne operation.
We are a growing Australian transport and logistics company operating across regional distribution, interstate linehaul, local transport, parcel delivery, warehousing and cross-dock services.
With our Melbourne operation continuing to expand, we are looking for someone who knows the transport industry, knows how to find opportunities and can turn those opportunities into long-term customers.
This is a genuine sales role.Your main focus is winning new business.
What you'll be doing
Find and develop new transport and logistics customersBuild relationships with transport, logistics, procurement and supply chain managersGenerate your own leads and opportunitiesAttend customer meetings and site visitsIdentify recent tenders and contract opportunitiesWork with our management and finance team to develop pricing and proposalsPresent proposals and negotiate with customersHelp transition new customers into our operations teamMaintain relationships with the customers you bring into the business
What we are looking for
Experience in transport,



freight or logistics salesExisting knowledge of the Melbourne transport marketStrong network and industry relationships would be highly regardedProven ability to win new businessGood understanding of transport pricing and operationsConfident dealing directly with senior customer contactsSelf-motivated and comfortable working independentlyCommercially minded — we want profitable business, not revenue for the sake of revenueExperience selling interstate linehaul, local distribution, dedicated transport, warehousing/3PL or parcel distribution would be particularly valuable.
What we offer
$105,000 – $125,000 base salary (based on experience)
