This is an opportunity to join the Octopus Australia team on their mission to accelerate Australia's transition to a future powered by renewable energy.Company DescriptionYou will be assisting the development and implementation of stakeholder engagement strategies for Octopus Australia's existing renewable energy assets and new projects.
Our current portfolio consists of a mixture of early-stage developments through to operating assets.The role will work closely with Octopus Australia's Development, Construction and Assets teams to support the successful delivery of projects.The role is based in Brisbane – with site visits required to: our development sites, operational sites, stakeholders and communities across Australia.Just as important as what you achieve in this role, is how you perform the role.

Our dynamic multi-disciplinary team of over 70 highly skilled people have the expertise required to manage a renewable energy fund and operate a renewable energy and storage portfolio.We have an existing multi‐GW portfolio of operating and development assets, including utility‐scale solar, wind and battery storage facilities across the country.

This includes a diverse portfolio of projects across development, construction and operational phasesDeliver communication plans to support Asset, Construction and Development project leadsLead engagement activities that promote Octopus Australia as a trustworthy, credible, and responsible partnerCoordinate and attend key stakeholder engagement activities such as community consultation sessions, local events and provide sponsorship representationWork with the Stakeholder Engagement Manager to manage community funding programs to deliver meaningful benefits to the communities in which Octopus Australia operatesAdministering and maintaining stakeholder databasesProvide crisis communications and media relations support as requiredBuild trusting relationships and grow Octopus Australia's social licence to operate in the communities we have a presenceQualificationsIdeally, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experiences:Previous experience in a similar position working in the renewable energy sector is preferred.
Experience in large scale infrastructure projects such as electricity transmission or oil and gas will be well regarded.Experienced in implementing stakeholder engagement activities for a diverse set of stakeholders.Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong relationships across a diverse range stakeholders.Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and deliver results across Octopus Australia's project portfolio.Excellent written and verbal communications skills.Experience of using a variety of communication channels to appropriately communicate with the target group.Demonstrated experience in planning and managing project events.Willingness to travel domestically to deliver on engagement strategies and plans as required.Eligibility to work in Australia.Additional InformationWhat we offerA competitive salary package including bonus and medical insurance benefitsExtra Annual Leave entitlementFlexible workingOngoing learning and career development opportunitiesOctopus has built an exciting and inclusive high-performance culture where employees feel empowered.
