Our team manages and executes large-scale capital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety and leave a lasting positive legacy in the communities we engage with.What you'll do:We're looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years of experience to play a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of small to medium sustaining capital projects across the mining and minerals processing sector.This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a combination of technical engineering, client engagement, mentoring junior engineers, and providing practical solutions for operational sites.
You'll have the opportunity to lead mechanical work packages, build long-term client relationships, and help drive successful project outcomes from concept through to execution.Provide Senior mechanical engineering delivery across sustaining capital and brownfields mining projectsDevelop and review engineering calculations, technical specifications, scopes of work, and design documentationProvide technical leadership for fixed plant and materials handling systemsSupport studies, investigations, detailed design,



and execution phases of projectsMentor and support developing engineers within the Adelaide teamEngage directly with clients to understand operational challenges and identify practical engineering solutionsCoordinate with multidisciplinary teams including process, civil, structural, electrical, and project delivery professionalsSupport project planning, budgeting, risk management, and successful delivery of assigned work packagesParticipate in site visits, condition assessments, commissioning activities, and technical reviews as requiredAbout you:Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering10+ years of experience within mining, minerals processing, heavy industrial, or resources sectorsStrong knowledge of fixed plant equipment and mining infrastructureExperience delivering sustaining capital, brownfields, or operational site projectsDemonstrated ability to lead engineering packages and manage stakeholder relationshipsStrong understanding of Australian engineering standards and safe design principlesExcellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to project deliveryChartered Engineer status, or progress toward chartership, will be highly regardedWhy WSP?
