We are also committed to the continuous development and training of our personnel to maintain a safe and rewarding work environment.Primary ObjectivesReporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Manager – Capital Project Portfolio will provide strategic leadership and oversight for Capital Projects.
This pivotal role focuses on the collation, pursuit and delivery of capital initiatives ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
While revenue responsibility rests with the General Managers of regional operations, the Manager – Capital Project Portfolio will establish a cohesive project management framework that enhances performance across small to medium sized projects valued between $20M and $150M.
This position is essential for ensuring effective execution, compliance and operational efficiency while fostering collaboration across departments.Provide overall vision and direction for the capital projects portfolio, aligning project objectives with the company's strategic goalsDevelop and implement project governance frameworks and best practices to ensure successful project deliveryLead the collation, pursuit and execution of capital projects ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets and quality StandardsFacilitate communication and collaboration between project teams and regional General Manager's to ensure alignment and integration of project activitiesDevelop and implement project strategies and plans to achieve project goals and objectives.Oversee all aspects of project management, including scope, budget, schedule, quality, and risk management.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients,
stakeholders and partners.Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.Monitor project performance, providing regular updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders.Lead and manage project teams, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and professional development.Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing corrective actions as needed.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the project team.Prepare and present project proposals, progress reports, and final project documentation.Ensure effective resource allocation and utilization to optimize project delivery.Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and best practices for future projectsTo travel to project sites as needed to oversee project activities and engage with on-the-ground teamsKnowledge & Experience RequiredMin.
10yrs experience in a Senior Project Management role within the O&G; or Mining sectors with a strong focus on capital projectsProven track record of overseeing small to medium sized projects ranging from $20M-$150M in valueAn in-depth understanding of capital projects lifecycle from initiation through to completion including planning, execution, monitoring and closureDemonstrated leadership experience in managing and developing project teams, fostering a culture of accountability and performanceExperience working in multi-regional environments coordinating across various stakeholders and teamsA strong background in financial management including budgeting,
