What You'll Do
As our Asset Engineer Roads - Programs and Inspections you'll report to the Coordinator Assets Civil Infrastructure and be responsible for the technical support and inspection of maintenance works for Council's road and drainage network assets.
You'll focus on undertaking pre-project programming, project management and engineering support and advice on renewals and rehabilitation across Council urban and rural civil infrastructure assets, ensuring projects delivered are on schedule and meet specifications with a clear connection to the numbers in the budget.

What You'll Need (Essential Criteria)
Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent with relevant experience in construction and maintenance of roads networks, facilities and stormwater drainage.
Experience in developing forward works programs, project management,



contract management for civil works (including associated administration), community consultation, project scoping and quantity surveyingincluding preparation of detailed estimates.
Demonstrated experience in civil construction and maintenance relating to roads, bitumen sealing, unsealed roads, asphalt, traffic facilities and stormwater drainage including management of in-house resources andcontractors.
Sound experience in the interpretation and application of Engineering plans and specifications and statutory requirements.
A demonstrated high level of computer literacy (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, asset management systems).
Demonstrated sound conflict resolution skills and the ability to negotiate successful outcomes.
Knowledge and experience in managing risk and managing workplace health and safety using safe systems of work in road construction and maintenance activities.
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing environmental assessments and management plans and practical knowledge of Local Government Act, Roads Act, Protection of the Workplace Operations Act(POEO Act) and Civil Liability Act.
Hold a C Class Drivers Licence and WHS Induction Card.
