We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to more than 380,000 residents.The RoleAs a Street Cleaner, you will play an important role in maintaining clean, safe and welcoming public spaces across our City.
Working as part of the City Clean Team, you will undertake a range of cleansing and maintenance activities to ensure Council assets, streets and public areas remain free from litter and debris.This is a hands-on outdoor role that offers variety in your day-to-day work, with responsibilities ranging from litter collection and public space maintenance to responding to emergency cleaning requests.
You will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality services that make a visible difference to the community.Duties will include but not be limited to:Clean and maintain streets, footpaths, parks and other public spacesCollect litter and remove debris to ensure public areas remain safe and presentableOperate equipment including blowers, whipper-snippers and other small plantRespond to emergency cleansing requests as requiredUndertake routine inspections and complete equipment safety checksFor a full list of duties,



click here to review the position description.You will have:Current Class C Driver's LicenceExperience in street cleaning, cleansing operations or a similar outdoor operational roleKnowledge of equipment used to undertake cleansing and maintenance activitiesAbility to work safely in a physically active outdoor environmentStrong teamwork and communication skillsA reliable and self-motivated approach to workCommitment to delivering high-quality services to the communitySalary starts from $61,112 (Grade A, Step 1) + 12% super, depending on skills and experience.What's in it for you?
