Freelance Research Nurse / DCT Home Visit Nurse – Werribee / Point Cook Area, Melbourne
About the opportunity
ProPharma is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to support a Decentralised Clinical Trial (DCT) with home-based patient visits in the Werribee / Point Cook area of Western Melbourne.
This is a freelance, ad hoc engagement, not a permanent position and not a role with fixed weekly hours.
It would suit an experienced nurse who is already working in another position, independently, or across other clinical research projects and would like to take on occasional additional assignments.
The initial home visit is targeted for 8 September ****, with further visits potentially available depending on study and patient requirements.
What you will be doing
You will provide clinical trial support in the patient's home, including:
Performing venipuncture and collecting blood samples
Processing blood samples in accordance with study requirements
Centrifuging samples where required
Completing blood requisition forms and associated study documentation
Following study-specific procedures and instructions
Ensuring accurate and compliant handling of samples and documentation
What we are looking for
Registered Nurse with current registration in Australia
Strong, confident and recent venipuncture experience




Comfortable working independently in a patient home environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow clinical trial procedures
Able to travel within the Werribee / Point Cook area for patient visits
Availability for the initial targeted visit on 8 September ****
Able to work on a freelance / contractor basis
Highly desirable:
Clinical research or research nursing experience
Experience as a Research Nurse or Research Nurse Coordinator
Experience processing and centrifuging blood samples
Experience completing blood requisition forms
Experience within a Phase I unit, clinical trials unit, research site or hospital research team
Location: Werribee / Point Cook area, Western Melbourne, VIC
Engagement: Freelance / independent contractor
Work pattern: Ad hoc, based on individual study and patient visit requirements
Initial targeted visit: 8 September ****
Hours: No fixed weekly hours or guaranteed ongoing volume
Flexibility: This work can be undertaken alongside other employment, freelance assignments or clinical research projects, subject to your existing commitments and availability
This could be an excellent fit for a Research Nurse or experienced Registered Nurse looking to supplement their existing work with adaptable clinical trial assignments.
