$200-$220/hr + super, inclusive of casual loading0.6 FTE - three days per weekFlexible remote and hybrid working arrangementsSydney, Canberra or remote AustraliaSenior clinical governance and medical advisory roleInfluence healthcare quality, policy and clinical outcomesBaseline Security Clearance sponsorship availableThe RoleAs Senior Medical Advisor, you will provide expert medical advice and clinical oversight within a complex healthcare environment.Working within an experienced multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to clinical governance, quality assurance, risk management and the review of complex healthcare matters.Key responsibilities include:Leading and chairing clinical case review forumsReviewing complex clinical cases and providing evidence-based recommendationsParticipating in incident reviews, clinical governance and risk managementProviding senior-level medical advice to key stakeholdersPreparing clinical reports, recommendations and briefing materialContributing to health policy,



procedures and governance frameworksSupporting quality improvement and clinical assurance initiativesAnalysing health data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvementCollaborating with internal and external healthcare stakeholdersAbout YouWe are looking for an experienced medical professional who enjoys the broader governance, quality, risk and strategic aspects of healthcare.You will require:Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Medical PractitionerFellowship with RACGP, ACRRM or another relevant specialist medical collegeSignificant experience as a General Practitioner, Medical Officer or Medical AdvisorStrong understanding of clinical governance, healthcare quality and risk managementExperience reviewing complex clinical matters and providing evidence-based adviceExcellent written communication and clinical report-writing skillsStrong stakeholder engagement and consultation capabilityAbility to work autonomously in a hybrid or remote environmentExperience within government, public health, correctional health, defence health, occupational health, healthcare policy, accreditation or clinical governance will be highly regarded.An existing Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance is advantageous; however, sponsorship can be considered for a suitable candidate.A Different Opportunity for an Experienced GPThis role may particularly suit a GP looking to develop or expand a portfolio career, combining clinical practice with medical advisory, governance or healthcare leadership work.If you're an experienced GP or Medical Advisor interested in applying your clinical expertise at a broader organisational level, we'd love to hear from you.
