Your new company Hays is partnering with a well-established not-for-profit organisation to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable Officer for an immediate start contract opportunity in Townsville.
This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week, initially offered as a 3-month contract with the possibility of extension.
You'll join a supportive team environment where your contribution will help support important services delivered to the community.Your recent role As the Accounts Payable Officer, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.Key responsibilities include:Processing high volumes of supplier invoices using Sage SoftwareMatching purchase orders,



invoices and supporting documentationPreparing and processing payment runsReconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepanciesResponding to supplier and internal stakeholder enquiriesMaintaining accurate financial records and accounts payable dataAssisting with month-end finance activities as requiredEnsuring compliance with organisational policies and proceduresWhat you'll need to succeedPrevious experience in an Accounts Payable or Finance Administration roleExperience using Sage accounting softwareStrong attention to detail and accuracyThe ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlinesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsIntermediate Microsoft Excel skillsA collaborative and proactive approach to work with a positive and friendly attitudeWhat you'll get in returnSCHADS Award Level 2, Pay Point 1Full-time hours, Monday to Friday (38 hours per week)Immediate start availableInitial 3-month contract with potential for extensionSupportive and friendly team environmentOpportunity to work within the not-for-profit sectorConvenient Townsville location
