Concrete Partnerships is exclusively representing a well-established national construction business in the appointment of an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its Sydney operation.
This is a business with an excellent reputation, a strong and diverse project pipeline and a proven history of successfully delivering complex commercial construction projects.
Operating across commercial, government, education, healthcare, aged care and social infrastructure, the business delivers a combination of new build, major refurbishment and complex projects within live and operational environments.
Their success has been built on quality delivery, strong client relationships and repeat business, supported by an experienced leadership team that remains genuinely accessible to its people.
With a healthy pipeline of secured and upcoming work, they are now looking to appoint a Senior Project Manager who can take genuine ownership of their projects and become an important part of the business for the long term.
For an experienced PM or SPM considering their next move, this offers an attractive balance: the stability, systems and project pipeline of an established national contractor, without losing the autonomy, accessibility and recognition that good people value.
The Role
As Senior Project Manager, you will be trusted with genuine end-to-end ownership of your projects.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will lead the project and site teams while taking responsibility for the successful commercial and operational delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion.
This is a role with real autonomy and accountability.
Your responsibilities will include:
End-to-end delivery of commercial construction projects
Leadership of Site Managers, Contract Administrators and project teams
Project planning, programming, procurement and construction methodology
Commercial management, forecasting, claims, variations and cost control
Management of subcontractors, consultants and key stakeholders
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients
Identifying and proactively managing project and commercial risk
Driving programme, safety, quality and financial performance
Providing clear and accurate reporting to senior leadership
Managing projects through completion, handover and close-out
Supporting and developing members of the wider project team
You will be given the space and authority to lead your projects properly, while having experienced and accessible senior people around you when required.
What We're Looking For
We are interested in speaking with accomplished Project Managers and Senior Project Managers who have established themselves within the Sydney commercial construction market.
Ideally, you will bring:
A strong track record delivering commercial construction projects
New build and/or major refurbishment experience
Strong construction methodology and programming capability
Sound commercial and contractual knowledge
Strong procurement, forecasting and cost management skills
Proven leadership of project and site teams
Excellent subcontractor and consultant management
Solid client and stakeholder relationships
The ability to identify problems early and make sound commercial decisions
A professional, accountable and solutions-focused approach
Experience delivering government, education, healthcare, aged care, social infrastructure or technically complex projects within live environments will be highly regarded.
Beyond experience, we are looking for the right type of person.
Someone who takes ownership, communicates openly, backs their team and takes genuine pride in the projects they deliver.
Why This Opportunity?
If you're already performing well as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, changing companies needs to offer you something meaningful.
This opportunity does.
You will be joining a well-established national builder with the pipeline, stability, systems and resources to provide genuine long-term security, while retaining an environment where senior people remain accessible and individual contribution is recognised.
For the right person, the opportunity offers:
A robust pipeline of secured and upcoming projects
A diverse portfolio of quality commercial construction projects
A combination of new build, refurbishment and complex live projects
Long-term stability with a well-established national contractor
Direct access to experienced senior leadership
Genuine ownership and autonomy over your projects
Experienced project and site teams around you
A collaborative, professional and down-to-earth working environment
The opportunity to influence project and business outcomes
Recognition for your performance and contribution
Genuine scope for further career progression
A highly competitive remuneration package
This is the type of business where a strong Senior Project Manager can build a career, not simply deliver another project.
If you're happy where you are but wondering whether your current employer can offer you the projects, stability, autonomy and progression you want over the next three to five years, it is worth understanding what this opportunity could offer before ruling out a move.
