Acquainted Talent has been engaged by a well-established specialist services organisation to appoint a Health & Safety Advisor.This is a broad, standalone position supporting a mid-sized workforce across Australia and New Zealand.
Reporting directly to the General Manager ANZ, you will have genuine ownership of the health and safety function while working closely with regional managers, operational leaders and People & Culture.The business has established safety systems and ISO certification in place.
They are looking for a practical and collaborative Advisor who can maintain the existing framework, identify sensible improvements and build strong relationships across the organisation.About the BusinessThe organisation provides specialist technical services across commercial, industrial and infrastructure environments.Its workforce includes office-based professionals, technical specialists and operational field teams working across a variety of locations and client sites.
The business has an established presence across Australia and New Zealand and is known for delivering practical, technically led solutions.The RoleBased at the Sydney head office, the Health & Safety Advisor will provide practical support across both operational and corporate teams.Responsibilities will include:Providing health and safety advice to managers and employeesConducting site inspections, audits and risk assessmentsLeading incident and near-miss investigationsManaging workers' compensation, rehabilitation and return-to-work processesOverseeing employee medical compliance and health surveillanceCoordinating safety training,
meetings and initiativesManaging the annual ISO reaccreditation processSupporting internal and external auditsLeading the continued development of the safety reporting platformThe role will involve interstate travel approximately once or twice per quarter, along with occasional travel to New Zealand.
It is primarily office-based in Sydney when not travelling.About YouYou will be an established Health & Safety Advisor who is ready to take broader ownership of a function.You will bring:A Certificate IV in WHS or relevant health, safety or environmental qualificationExperience within an operational, technical, field-based or project environmentSound knowledge of WHS legislation and complianceExperience with audits, incidents, risk management and safety documentationStrong communication and stakeholder-engagement skillsThe ability to work independently and manage competing prioritiesA practical and collaborative approach to safetyConfidence working with both field-based employees and senior leadersExperience with ISO-certified management systems, workers' compensation, return to work or health surveillance would be highly regarded.
