Broad accounting role across EOM, recs, AP/AR & complianceWe are currently partnering with an established investment and financial services business based in Fortitude Valley to recruit an experienced Accountant for an initial three-month contract.Operating within the investment space and working alongside a portfolio of Australian businesses, the organisation offers a skilled yet entrepreneurial environment with exposure across a diverse group of businesses.Due to a peak period, they are looking for a capable Accountant who can step in quickly and provide hands‐on support across the day-to-day accounting function.The RoleWorking closely with the broader finance team, your responsibilities will include:Preparing and posting journals, accruals and prepaymentsCompleting balance sheet and general ledger reconciliationsSupporting month‐end close and reporting processesAssisting with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as requiredInvestigating and resolving reconciliation discrepanciesAssisting with general ledger maintenanceSupporting compliance requirements and related reportingResponding to ad hoc finance and accounting queriesProviding broader support across the finance function during a busy periodAbout YouThis role will suit an experienced Accountant who is comfortable stepping into a business and getting up to speed quickly.




You will ideally bring:3+ years' experience in an Accountant, Financial Accountant or strong Assistant Accountant capacityStrong hands‐on experience with journals, balance sheet reconciliations and month‐endA solid understanding of general ledger accounting and accounting principlesExperience assisting with financial compliance, statutory obligations and/or related reportingConfidence investigating variances and resolving discrepancies with minimal supervisionStrong Excel skills and confidence working across accounting/ERP systemsHigh attention to detail with the ability to manage competing deadlinesA proactive, adaptable approach and willingness to work across a broad accounting remitThe ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a small finance teamAvailability to commence immediately or within one week's noticeWhat's on OfferThis is a great opportunity to join a well‐established business during a busy period, offering $40-$45 per hour + super, an initial three-month contract, and genuine flexibility.The role would suit someone looking to secure a hands‐on contract where they can add value from day one.Cadence Connect provides advisory and consultancy services strategically-targeted towards relieving organisational stress.
