Headway Gippsland is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality, Audit and Document Control Officer to join our supportive team.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to organisational excellence by supporting quality management systems, internal auditing, document control, compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.If you enjoy working with systems, processes, governance, and problem-solving while making a meaningful difference in the community sector, we'd love to hear from you.About the RoleAs the Quality, Audit and Document Control Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the organisation's quality, compliance, and governance frameworks.
You will work collaboratively with managers and staff to coordinate internal audits, maintain document control systems, monitor compliance requirements, and support continuous improvement activities.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in quality, compliance, auditing, governance, administration, or document management who is looking to further develop their career in a purpose-driven organisation.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality and ComplianceSupport the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organisation's Quality Management System (QMS).
Monitor compliance with organisational policies, procedures, legislative requirements, standards, and contractual obligations.Maintain compliance, risk, and quality registers and reporting systems.Identify compliance gaps, quality issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement.Support managers and staff to understand and implement quality and compliance requirements.Internal AuditingCoordinate and maintain the internal audit program and audit schedule.Conduct and support internal audits, including planning, evidence collection, documentation,



and reporting.Monitor audit findings and track corrective actions through to completion.Analyse audit outcomes and identify recurring or systemic issues.Support external audits, accreditation reviews, and certification processes.Document Control and Policy ManagementMaintain the organisation's document control system and document registers.Coordinate document development, review, approval, publication, and archiving processes.Ensure version control and review schedules are maintained.Support document owners to ensure policies and procedures meet organisational and compliance requirements.Assist in communicating policy and procedure updates across the organisation.Continuous Improvement and GovernanceMaintain corrective action and continuous improvement registers.Monitor action plans, due dates, and completion status.Support root cause analysis and organisational improvement initiatives.Prepare quality, compliance, audit, and governance reports.Contribute to risk management, governance, and continuous improvement activities across the organisation.About Headway GippslandHeadway Gippsland is a not-for-profit organisation that has been supporting people with acquired brain injuries and disabilities across Gippsland for more than 35 years.With offices in Morwell, Drouin, and Newborough, our dedicated team works alongside people with disability, their families, and carers to achieve greater independence, choice, and quality of life.Joining Headway Gippsland means becoming part of an organisation committed to inclusion, integrity, accountability,
