Working within a team-oriented Open Space Planning and Recreation team, you will contribute to projects that enhance parks, playgrounds, streetscapes and public domain outcomes for the local community.Your new roleManaging open space projects from concept design through to construction and completionUndertaking site investigations, analysis and preparation of design documentationPreparing concept and detailed designs, specifications and tender documentationAdministering contracts and monitoring project budgets and expenditureConducting site inspections and supervising work to ensure quality outcomesReviewing Development Applications and Planning Proposals, providing landscape and tree-related advicePreparing reports, correspondence, cost estimates and project management documentationFacilitating community consultation and stakeholder engagement activitiesAssisting with environmental assessments and regulatory approvalsProviding landscape design advice to internal stakeholders and project teamsProjects will include playground upgrades, park improvements, public domain works,
streetscape projects and strategic planning initiatives.What you'll need to succeedDegree qualifications in Landscape Architecture or a related disciplineMinimum 3 years' post-graduate experienceExperience delivering open space projects, parks, playgrounds, streetscapes or recreational facilitiesStrong design, project management and contract administration skillsExperience preparing cost estimates and project documentationExcellent written, verbal and visual communication skillsProficiency in AutoCAD or Vector works, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft OfficeCurrent Class C Driving LicenceHighly regarded: Local Government experienceExperience reviewing Development Applications and Planning ProposalsProcurement and tendering experienceGIS/QIS capabilityExperience with playground upgrades and open space asset managementWhat you'll get in returnContract through to December ****Competitive hourly rateOpportunity to work on meaningful community infrastructure projectsSupportive and experienced team environmentExposure to both project delivery and strategic planning initiativesFlexible and collaborative workplace culture
