Scrum Master | Federal Government Program | Adelaide

Initial 12 Month Contract + Extension Options | Adelaide (Hybrid)

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join a large scale Federal Government digital transformation program delivering critical services to Australians. This is an exciting prospect to work within a high performing Agile environment, supporting multidisciplinary delivery teams to build and enhance customer focused digital solutions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in facilitating Agile practices, removing delivery impediments, and empowering teams to deliver high quality outcomes.

About the Role

As a Scrum Master, you will support Agile delivery teams by fostering Agile values, principles and practices, while enabling teams to achieve their delivery objectives. You will work closely with Product Owners, Delivery Managers, Architects, Developers, Testers and Business Analysts to ensure successful product delivery.

You will be responsible for facilitating Agile ceremonies, driving continuous improvement, managing dependencies, and supporting teams to remain focused on agreed priorities and goals.

Key Responsibilities

- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including stand ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives
- Coach and mentor teams in Agile values, principles and best practices
- Build team capability through ongoing guidance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist Product Owners in backlog refinement and prioritisation activities
- Identify, manage and remove delivery blockers and impediments
- Protect teams from external disruptions that impact delivery outcomes
- Foster a culture of trust,



collaboration and accountability
- Support teams to become self organising and high performing
- Manage stakeholder engagement and communication activities
- Coordinate with cross functional teams to manage dependencies and delivery risks
- Support onboarding of new team members
- Drive improvements in team performance, Agile maturity and delivery effectiveness

Skills and Experience

Essential

- Extensive commercial experience working as a Scrum Master within Agile delivery environments
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate Agile teams and ceremonies
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience coaching teams on Agile methodologies and frameworks
- Proven ability to identify and resolve impediments affecting delivery
- Experience leading continuous improvement and organisational change initiatives
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery tools, processes and metrics

Desirable

- Experience working within Federal or State Government environments
- Experience supporting large scale digital transformation programs
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle practices
- Experience mentoring and supporting team capability development

SFIA Capability Requirements

Candidates should demonstrate capability across:





- Measurement (SFIA Level 4)
- Methods and Tools (SFIA Level 4)
- Organisational Facilitation (SFIA Level 5)

Highly regarded:
- Employee Experience (SFIA Level 4)
- Specialist Advice (SFIA Level 4)

Contract Details

- Initial contract: 12 months
- Extension options available up to 24 months
- Start date: October 2026
- Location: Adelaide, SA
- Working arrangement: Hybrid
- Full time onsite attendance required for the first 6 weeks, with hybrid arrangements considered thereafter
- Must hold a Baseline Security Clearance
