THE ROLE

The Communities and Families Transformation Program (CFTP) is a large-scale service transformation program that will replace legacy case management systems and deliver modern tools to approximately 10,000 users across nine program areas in the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) and the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS). The program will also deliver improved case management and reporting capabilities to Community Sector Organisations (CSOs) and Aboriginally Controlled Community Organisations (ACCOs). The program will redesign how services are delivered to improve efficiency and outcomes while enhancing compliance and data privacy and security.

The first tranche of work, spanning three years will deliver:



replacement of IRIS (the legacy sector case management and reporting system); service design for Child Protection; and complete foundational technology design and build and procurement. Key foundational elements will include capacity to securely store and share information practitioners need to support case planning and service delivery. The program will seek to design reusable technology assets that can be deployed across government.

Future tranches of work will be subject to completion and acceptance by government of subsequent business cases – building on tranche one outcomes to allow progressive completion of the program before legacy systems must be decommissioned.

The Senior Communication Officer will be responsible for providing support to the Manager, Stakeholder Engagement and Communications, to administer the Communities and Families Transformation Program communications function and partnership with key stakeholders. The role is primarily responsible for planning and delivering a range of strategic initiatives and oversight of integrated communications that support the Communities and Families Transformation Program and its staff to deliver on priority initiatives, campaigns, projects and events.

The Senior Communications Officer leads and supports the planning, coordination and implementation of priority communications, advertising, key events, engagement and change activities. This role plays a key role in building relationships within the department, Ministerial offices, internal program areas, key external stakeholders and across government. The role will be required to provided communications expertise and insight to identify emergent risks and issues and collaborate to ensure a consistent, integrated and innovative approach to communications, content and creative development.

To successfully meet program objectives the Senior Communications Officer will work to support development and delivery of the Communities and Families Service Transformation Program's strategic engagement and communications approach, ensuring stakeholders are informed, engaged, and mobilised to support the successful delivery of the transformation.





The role will be expected to support development and implement integrated engagement and communication strategies that build understanding of the reform vision, strengthen partnerships across government and the community sector to engage all parties in the transformation journey. The role will be expected to support the Manager, Stakeholder Engagement and Communications to support executive leaders to engage with Ministers, departmental executives, partner agencies, funded organisations, and other key stakeholders.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

- Contribute to the development, delivery and evaluation of Communities and Families Transformation Program internal communication strategies and activities and collateral (including but limited to the department's intranet, eDM, events content, speeches and speaking notes).
- Develops and oversees the implementation of contemporary and integrated strategic communications of the Communities and Families Transformation Program and align to ministerial requirements and the department's strategy.
- Leads, builds and maintains positive and productive relationships with Ministerial Office staff and senior internal and external stakeholders.
