About the Team
The Research Office supports researchers across the full research lifecycle and partners with faculties and divisions to enable research activity. This role sits in the Research Projects and Planning unit, within the Research Operations and Development team, and works closely with researchers, faculties and professional teams across UTS.
About the Role
This role provides expert advice and operational support for the development, delivery and continuous improvement of consultancies and research projects across UTS. It supports project risk, costing and pricing, helps ensure activities comply with university requirements, and develops practical resources and training to strengthen capability in consulting and consultancies.
If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing advice and support for consultancies and other commercial knowledge exchange activities that apply UTS research-generated knowledge.
- Advising on project risk, costing, pricing and budget development.
- Developing and delivering resources, guidance, training and education to support consultancy and research projects activities.
- Monitoring consultancy and research projects performance; review policies, procedures and systems; and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Working collaboratively across the university to deliver coordinated support and maximise opportunities.
- Supporting relevant committees and working groups, and contribute to broader Research Office priorities as required.

1. Strong understanding of consulting, knowledge exchange and commercialisation in a university or research-intensive environment.
2. Knowledge of project planning, costing, pricing, risk management and the research lifecycle, with the ability to interpret policy, provide sound advice and proactively solve problems.
3. Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
4. Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver practical outcomes.
5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint and other digital collaboration tools.
6. Experience working in a university or research-intensive environment.
Remuneration/Salary
Base Salary Range: $111,740 - 123,611 pa (HEW 7)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
