About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Business Services & Tax team in Melbourne's South-East. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven accountant looking to take the next step in their career, with the level of the role tailored to your experience, technical capability and leadership skills.

You'll have the autonomy to manage your own portfolio of clients, work across complex compliance and advisory matters, and build strong relationships by providing practical, commercially focused tax and business advice. You'll also play an important role in mentoring and developing junior team members, with genuine scope to take on greater responsibility and progress within the firm.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Manage a portfolio of small-to-medium business clients across a range of industries.
- Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, BAS/IAS and FBT returns.
- Provide practical tax and business advice, including tax planning, Division 7A, CGT,



GST and business structures.
- Deliver advisory services, including Virtual CFO and management reporting.
- Review work prepared by junior and intermediate accountants, providing guidance and feedback.
- Mentor and support the development of junior team members.
- Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities to add value.
- Assist with complex tax matters, advisory projects and client meetings.

Skills and Experience

- 6+ years' experience in Australian public practice, ideally across business services and taxation.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
- CA/CPA qualified or currently progressing towards qualification.
- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation, compliance and accounting principles.
- Proven experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns across multiple entity types.
- Strong client management skills, with confidence communicating directly with business owners.
- Experience supervising, mentoring or reviewing the work of junior accountants.
- Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Office; experience with Xero Practice Manager, FYI or CAS 360 is advantageous.
