EL1 Lead Asset Manager - Manufacturing & Asset Management

Location: Deakin, ACT
Contract: 6 months, with two extension options of up to 1 month each
Pay: $90 to $100 p/h including super (negotiable)
Work type: Full time
Work arrangement: Hybrid / flexible, with specific arrangements agreed with your supervisor on a case-by-case basis
Clearance: Must hold a current Baseline clearance or above

About the Role
This is a senior physical asset management role with our Federal Government client in a specialised manufacturing environment. You will lead the systems, plans and processes that keep critical physical assets safe, reliable and cost-effective. The work spans lifecycle planning, CMMS data, maintenance performance, condition and reliability assessment, risk and continuous improvement. You will work across operations, maintenance, engineering, leadership and governance teams. The role needs someone who can turn asset data into sound decisions and keep long-term plans aligned with operational needs and available resources.

What You'll Be Doing

- Lead the asset management function, policy, processes and procedures
- Develop long-term asset plans and lifecycle strategies
- Maintain accurate and auditable asset registers and CMMS data
- Oversee CMMS, ERP, configuration and technical data interactions
- Monitor maintenance plans, condition, reliability and asset performance
- Produce asset performance analysis and insights for senior stakeholders
- Coordinate new assets against operational, maintenance and safety needs




- Balance asset plans and budgets against resources and risk
- Drive continuous improvement across the asset lifecycle
- Assess the impacts of planned asset management system changes

What You Bring (Essential Criteria)

- You've managed physical assets through lifecycle planning, maintenance, renewal, replacement and disposal
- You've worked with critical assets and programmed servicing in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- You've owned or maintained CMMS asset data, configuration or technical information
- You can apply Systems Engineering and Quality Management principles to asset decisions
- You've managed plant safety and risk, including formal risk assessments
- You use condition, reliability and performance information to guide decisions
- You can negotiate and influence operational, technical and senior stakeholders
- You can balance competing priorities, plans, budgets and risk
- You're an Australian citizen
- You must hold a current Baseline clearance or above

Nice to Have (Desirable Criteria)

- Experience with Mainpac
- Qualifications in reliability engineering, asset management or another relevant engineering field
- Experience in a regulated Commonwealth manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience integrating CMMS information with ERP or other enterprise platforms
