Job Overview:

Are you a Xero-savvy finance professional with hands-on expertise in Australian payroll and multi-site hospitality operations?

Our growing client is looking for a skilled Bookkeeper - Australian Payroll, Accounts Payable to own critical transactional processes, end-to-end accounts payable, and exact reconciliations while working alongside a senior accounting team. To excel in this role, you will need proven bookkeeping experience utilizing software like Xero and Dext to keep multi-site financial data accurate and seamlessly organized. Schedule:

- Part-time, Sunshine Coast, Queensland Time zone (10-15 work hours per week) (with the potential for additional hours as the business grows)

Responsibilities:

- Accounts Payable & Bookkeeping

- Process and accurately code supplier invoices using Xero and Dext.
- Maintain accurate supplier records and accounts payable information.
- Reconcile supplier statements and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare weekly supplier payment batches for management approval.
- Monitor outstanding invoices and ensure supplier accounts are kept up to date.
- Accurately allocate expenses and transactions between the Bokarina and Noosa, Australia locations, including relevant group or shared costs.
- Reconcile bank accounts and other relevant financial transactions.
- Reconcile and process Square settlements and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.
- Maintain clean, accurate, and up-to-date bookkeeping records.
- Payroll Administration

- Prepare and review weekly payroll using Tanda.
- Review employee timesheets for accuracy and completeness.
- Check and process leave, allowances, penalty rates, and other payroll-related exceptions.
- Ensure payroll information is accurately captured before submission for approval.
- Reconcile payroll transactions and investigate discrepancies where required.
- Support compliance with Australian payroll requirements, including Hospitality awards and applicable pay rates, penalty rates and allowances, Superannuation, and Single Touch Payroll (STP).




- Reporting & Reconciliation

- Prepare a weekly Accounts Payable and Cash Requirements Report to support payment planning.
- Identify and escalate discrepancies, missing information, or potential issues in a timely manner.
- Provide clean, accurate, and reconciled financial information to the senior accounting team.
- Assist with maintaining clear documentation and supporting records for financial transactions.

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounts Payable Officer, Payroll Officer, or similar finance role.
- Strong hands-on experience using Xero.
- Experience using Dext or similar invoice and document management software.
- Experience processing Australian payroll.
- Experience using Tanda or a similar workforce management and payroll platform.
- Good understanding of Australian hospitality awards, including penalty rates, allowances, and payroll requirements.
- Knowledge of superannuation and Single Touch Payroll (STP) requirements.
- Experience reconciling bank accounts, supplier accounts, payroll, and payment settlements.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Excellent written English and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage recurring weekly responsibilities.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience supporting a multi-site hospitality, restaurant, café, fast-food, or retail business.
- Experience allocating costs across multiple locations, departments, or entities.
- Experience with Square or other payment settlement platforms.
- Familiarity with high-volume supplier invoice processing.
- Experience working remotely with an Australian-based business.
