BOILERMAKERS – WORKSHOP & FIFO OPPORTUNITIES

Willawong Workshop and Northern Queensland Projects

Renron Queensland is seeking experienced and suitably qualified Boilermakers to join our growing Queensland operations.

We currently have opportunities for:

• Approximately two Boilermakers based at our Willawong fabrication workshop; and
• Approximately ten Boilermakers for FIFO project work in Northern Queensland.

These positions offer competitive casual rates, ongoing work opportunities and the potential to transition into permanent full-time employment for suitable candidates.

Following continued growth in Victoria, Renron has expanded its operations into Queensland with a fabrication workshop located in Willawong. Our Queensland team supports workshop fabrication and project work across Brisbane and regional and Northern Queensland.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS

WILLAWONG WORKSHOP BOILERMAKERS

We are seeking approximately two Boilermakers to work from our fabrication workshop in Willawong, Queensland.

The work will involve structural and heavy steel fabrication, welding and associated workshop activities. Some onsite work across Brisbane may also be available for suitable employees.

Casual pay rate:

• $40.00 per hour base rate;
• Plus 25% casual loading;
• Total ordinary casual rate of $50.00 per hour; and
• Overtime and other applicable entitlements paid in accordance with the applicable industrial instrument and employment conditions.

FIFO BOILERMAKERS – NORTHERN QUEENSLAND

We are also seeking approximately ten experienced Boilermakers for onsite FIFO project work in Northern Queensland.

These roles will involve welding, fabrication,



installation and related construction activities in an active project setting. Applicants must be comfortable working away from home and complying with all site safety, fitness-for-work and project requirements.

Casual pay rate:

• $46.00 per hour base rate;
• Plus 25% casual loading;
• Total ordinary casual rate of $57.50 per hour; and
• Overtime and other applicable entitlements paid in accordance with the applicable industrial instrument and project conditions.

Further details regarding the project location, roster, mobilisation arrangements and anticipated duration will be provided during the recruitment process.

ABOUT YOU

To be considered, you should have:

• Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade, or an equivalent recognised qualification;
• Alternatively, a minimum of three years’ relevant boilermaking and fabrication experience;
• Strong structural and heavy steel fabrication skills;
• Competency in FCAW, GMAW and MMAW welding processes;
• Experience welding to AS/NZS 1554 requirements, including SP category work;
• The ability to accurately read and interpret fabrication and engineering drawings;
• Experience setting up, operating and maintaining welding equipment;
• The ability to successfully complete a practical weld test;
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety; and
• The ability to comply with site-specific medical, fitness-for-work and drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Experience working with steel sections and plate between 50 mm and 100 mm thick will be highly regarded.





The following qualifications or experience will also be advantageous:

• Forklift licence;
• Basic, intermediate or advanced rigging high-risk work licence;
• Working at Heights training;
• Confined Space Entry training;
• EWP high-risk work licence;
• Construction Industry White Card; and
• Experience using automated cutting or welding equipment, including oxy-fuel profile cutting and linear welding systems.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Successful applicants will initially be directly employed by Renron Queensland on a casual basis. There may be opportunities for ongoing employment and progression to permanent full-time positions for suitable employees, subject to operational requirements and performance.
