Wirraka Maya Health Service Aboriginal Corporation is proud to be the first Aboriginal Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in the Pilbara. Our RTO is building a strong local Aboriginal health workforce through practical, culturally safe training connected to real community health services and local workforce needs.

About the Role - Student Support Officer/s

A Student Support Officer provides practical and administrative support to students, helping them stay engaged, access services, and successfully progress through their studies.

We are seeking two full-time, ongoing Student Support Officers (one female and one male) to provide culturally safe, practical and respectful support to Aboriginal students throughout their learning journey.

Your Role in Student Success

- Arrange student travel, accommodation and transport.
- Communicate with students, trainers, families, and other stakeholders as needed.
- Connect students with local services and supports during study visits.
- Provide practical support and regular check-ins throughout training.
- Manage student enrolments, records and documentation, ensuring information is accurate and compliant.
- Manage inboxes, calendars and general administration, and support improvements to systems and processes.
- Participate in organisational events and promotions of the RTO.
- Other reasonable duties as required.

Skills and Experience Needed

- A kind, caring and approachable person with a positive, can-do attitude and willingness to help.
- Well organised, with strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Clear written and communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Intermediate computer skills required, including Microsoft Office.
- Experience with RTO management systems and travel booking platforms are a bonus.
- Ability to work respectfully in a cross-cultural environment,



with demonstrated experience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities.

Licence, Checks and Qualifications

- Valid WA Driver’s Licence
- National Police Clearance (less than 6 months)
- Working With Children Clearance (WA) or willingness to obtain
- Evidence of Australian Right to Work
- Qualifications in education, community services, health and/or related field is highly sought.
