Diploma Early Childhood Educator

Are you a Diploma-qualified Early Childhood Educator who is curious, reflective and excited by the possibilities that emerge when we listen deeply to children, follow their ideas and learn alongside them?

Pacific Lutheran Early Learning is seeking a collaborative and enthusiastic Diploma Educator to join our established and welcoming team.

About us

Located on the grounds of Pacific Lutheran College in Meridan Plains, Pacific Lutheran Early Learning provides care and education for children from 15 months to school age.

Our practice is grounded in children's voice, agency and belonging, with a strong focus on inquiry-based learning. We are Reggio Emilia inspired and value educators who are curious, reflective and committed to continuous learning and skilled growth.

As part of the broader Pacific Lutheran College community, our children and educators benefit from meaningful connections across the College and wider community. We are also actively investing in our practice through the Independent Schools Queensland (ISQ) Parent Engagement Masterclass program, strengthening our partnerships with children and families.

About you

We are looking for an educator who is passionate about early childhood education and committed to achieving positive outcomes for children.

You will value children as capable, confident and active participants in their learning and bring a reflective and collaborative approach to your practice.





You will be willing to support and uphold the Lutheran ethos and values of Pacific Lutheran College and Pacific Lutheran Early Learning and contribute positively to our established team and culture.

You will also be flexible and available to work rostered shifts across our operating hours of 6:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, and be willing and able to meet the requirements to act as a Responsible Person.

Our educators are expected to understand and uphold their responsibilities in relation to child protection, mandatory reporting and safeguarding, and to speak up when something does not feel right. Children's safety, wellbeing and best interests must remain at the forefront of our practice and decision-making.

Pacific Lutheran Early Learning is committed to child-safe recruitment practices. Preferred applicants will be subject to appropriate pre-employment screening and reference checks, including assessment of their suitability to work with children.

Essential requirements

Applicants must:

- Hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, or an equivalent approved qualification

- Hold a current valid Blue Card

- Hold current approved First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification

- Hold, or be able to complete within the required legislative timeframe, approved child protection training in accordance with section 162A of the Education and Care Services National Law

- Be willing and able to meet the requirements to act as a Responsible Person

- Be available to work rostered shifts across the service's operating hours of 6:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday

Position details

Employment: Permanent Part-Time, up to 37 hours per week
Operating hours: 6:30 am – 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday
Operating: 50 weeks per year
Remuneration: In accordance with the applicable Award and classification

Selection criteria

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

1. Strong knowledge and practical application of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standard (NQS), with a commitment to delivering high-quality early childhood education and care.

2. A child-centred approach to practice, recognising children as capable, confident and active participants in their learning and actively supporting children's voice, agency and participation.

3. The ability to build warm, respectful and collaborative relationships with children, families and colleagues.

4. A reflective and collaborative approach to professional practice, with a commitment to continuous learning, professional growth and contributing positively to a supportive team culture.

5. Experience in, or a genuine interest in developing your practice in, Reggio Emilia-inspired and inquiry-based approaches to learning.
