Refrigeration Mechanic Apprentice – 1st or 2nd Year

Direct Connect Electrical & Air is looking for a motivated 1st or 2nd-year Refrigeration Mechanic Apprentice with a minimum of six months’ on-the-job experience to join our growing Perth team.

You’ll work alongside some of the best refrigeration technicians in the business, learning across a huge variety of work—not just bashing out split systems all day.

We look after commercial properties, government facilities, prisons, insurance repairs, industrial sites and the occasional domestic job. You could be assisting with a fault on an older package unit one day, servicing commercial equipment the next, then helping with installations, repairs or refrigeration systems.

This role will suit someone who is keen to learn properly, ask questions, take pride in their work and build a long-term career in refrigeration and air conditioning.

Yes, you’ll need to help the team, keep things tidy and learn the basics properly—but you’ll also be supported to understand the work, develop your fault-finding skills and become a capable technician in your own right.

What we’re looking for

- Currently undertaking a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning apprenticeship
- 1st or 2nd year preferred
- Minimum six months’ practical experience in the trade
- A genuine interest in refrigeration, air conditioning and fault-finding
- Willingness to learn, listen and take direction
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well in a team
- Pride in your work, tools, vehicle and presentation
- Current driver’s licence, or working towards one
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Police Clearance and any site-specific clearances required.
- Must currently live in Perth

This is not a pre-apprenticeship or entry-level role for someone who has not yet started their trade.
