About the role
HomeCaring Pty Ltd is seeking an Accounts Receivable Assistant to join our Finance team in Parramatta, NSW. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting the financial operations of our aged and disability support services. As an Accounts Receivable Assistant, you will be responsible for managing client invoicing, payment processing, and maintaining accurate financial records.
This role is essential to ensuring smooth cash flow operations and supporting the delivery of quality care services to our clients across the community.
Key responsibilities
- Reconciling client accounts and investigating discrepancies
- Processing and recording client invoices and billing statements in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Recording payments received and updating financial records within accounting systems
- Managing accounts receivable records and maintaining accurate financial documentation
- Communicating with clients regarding billing enquiries and payment arrangements
- Following up on overdue accounts through telephone contact, email correspondence and written reminders
- Assisting with debt recovery procedures and maintaining relevant documentation
- Reconciling client payments received and matching them against invoices and records
- Preparing aged receivables reports and payment reminders
- Supporting the Finance team with month-end reconciliation processes
- Assisting with the preparation of accounts receivable reports and ageing schedules
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection requirements
- Liaising with clients regarding billing inquiries, payment arrangements and account discrepancies
What we're looking for
- Processing credit notes and adjustments where appropriate
- Proven experience in accounts receivable, billing, or a similar finance support role
- Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
- Supporting the finance team with general administrative tasks related to accounts receivable functions
- Ensuring compliance with company financial policies and relevant regulatory requirements
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
What we're looking for
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
- Qualified communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cooperative team
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification as a minimum; a certificate or diploma in accounting, bookkeeping or finance is preferred
- Understanding of aged and disability support services is advantageous
- Customer service experience with the ability to handle enquiries professionally and tactfully
- Proven experience working in an accounts receivable or similar finance administration role, ideally within the community services, aged care or disability support sector
- Knowledge of funding models relevant to aged and disability care services is preferred
- Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Excellent numeracy skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial data
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with clients and internal stakeholders
- Ability to work independently whilst being part of a collaborative finance team
- A commitment to confidentiality and data protection when handling sensitive financial and client information
