Office / Administration Assistant - Part Time

About Us

We’re an established cabinetry and joinery business looking for an experienced, organised and friendly Office / Administration Assistant to join our team and help keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are exactly the same. From reception and day-to-day administration through to systems management, office operations and supporting the wider team, you’ll play an important role in keeping the business organised and things moving forward.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a busy team and is confident taking ownership of their tasks. While many aspects of the role can be taught, we value someone who is naturally organised, follows things through and isn’t afraid to ask questions, solve problems and find better ways of doing things.

You’ll work closely with our Directors, Managers and wider team, becoming a trusted and valued part of the business. You’ll be someone the team can rely on to keep things on track, help with day-to-day challenges and make sure the important details don’t fall through the cracks.

You’ll also be supported by our part-time Accounts Administrator, allowing you to focus primarily on office administration, reception, systems, team support and keeping the office running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Business Support

- Support the Directors and Management Team with business operations, project administration, process improvements, supplier management, cost control, marketing initiatives and social media content.

Recruitment & Human Resources

- Support recruitment and onboarding processes, including preparing new starter documentation and employee records.
- Assist with employee administration, training coordination and performance review processes.
- Assist with apprentice administration and training requirements.

- Provide general support with employee and visa administration as required.

Compliance & WHS

- Maintain compliance systems, licences, training records, contractor requirements, workplace health and safety administration and WorkCover processes.

General Administration & Office Support

- Provide general administrative support across the office, workshop & office maintenance, uniforms, insurance, travel and accommodation arrangements.

Staff Engagement & Culture

- Support employee engagement initiatives and coordinate company events, team activities and staff recognition programs.

About You We’re looking for a bubbly, friendly and organised Admin Assistant to join our team!

We’re a busy, hands-on business, and we’re looking for someone who will enjoy being part of the team, have a laugh, get stuck in and help keep things running smoothly.

For us, the right personality and team fit are just as important as experience. We want someone who is approachable, positive and genuinely enjoys working with people.

You’ll be someone who

- Has a bubbly, positive and friendly personality

- Can confidently manage multiple tasks and competing priorities

- Is a great communicator and comfortable dealing with different people
- Can adapt quickly when things change
- Is happy to pitch in and help wherever needed

- Takes ownership of their work and follows things through

Most importantly... We’re looking for the right person, not just the right resume.

If you’re friendly, enthusiastic, organised and looking for a workplace where you can feel part of the team, be valued for what you bring and enjoy coming to work, we’d love to hear from you!

Experience is great — but personality, attitude and team fit are a must.

Essential Skills & Experience

- Xero experience
- Advanced Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Excel
- Recruitment and HR administration experience
- Excellent organisational, time management and follow-up skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work independently and use initiative

Desirable Skills & Experience
