Due to growth, Sandfire has an opening for an AI Program Coordinator to join our Technology in Perth. The AI Program Coordinator is responsible for building AI maturity and capability across the organisation and leading the delivery, governance and adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives. This role acts as the bridge between business stakeholders, technology teams, data teams, legal/compliance functions, and external partners to ensure AI solutions deliver measurable business value while maintaining appropriate governance, security, privacy, and ethical standards.
Duties And Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Assess and recommend AI use cases for prioritisation in alignment with business objectives and the approved AI strategy
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of AI programs.
- Establish program governance, reporting,
and performance monitoring.
- Coordinate cross-functional project teams including business stakeholders, legal, procurement, HR, technology, data and cyber security
- Support the development and delivery of the AI portfolio for the assets
- Implement AI governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures ensuring responsible and ethical use of AI.
- Ensure AI initiatives align with governance, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Build strong relationships with functional heads and business stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops to identify AI opportunities and business requirements.
- Lead and facilitate the AI working group, using them to continually build and mature the AI pipeline and drive adoption across their areas of the business
- Establish and manage processes for monitoring AI usage costs.
- Ensure AI initiatives deliver quantifiable business outcomes.
- Development and delivery of AI awareness and training programs to ensure strong AI capability throughout the business.
- Work closely with HR and business leaders to manage organisational change.
- Promote responsible, ethical and effective use of AI technologies across the organisation.
About You A degree in an IT field or related qualifications and experience. 8+ years’
experience in program management with demonstrated delivery of AI, data or digital initiatives from concept to production, including benefits realization
- Robust understanding of Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics.
- Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-wide technology programs.
- Working knowledge of AI governance and risk frameworks and emerging AI regulatory requirements
- Strong delivery experience using Agile methodologies.
- Experience managing external vendors and strategic partners.
- Experience within mining, resources, engineering, manufacturing, or heavy industry sectors.
Desirable
- Experience with enterprise data platforms and analytics solutions.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft ecosystem (Azure AI, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Fabric) and MLOps practices.
- Experience working in organisational change and adoption programs.
