Analyst / Senior Investment Analyst - Fixed Income

The Role:

- A highly regarded specialist fixed income investment manager is seeking an exceptional investment analyst to join its credit investment team. This role offers the opportunity to become a key sector specialist covering global financial institutions, including banks, insurers and diversified financial companies. Working closely with portfolio managers, you will generate investment ideas, conduct deep fundamental research, and contribute directly to investment outcomes across global credit markets.

This position is ideally suited to an intellectually curious analyst looking to build a long-term career in buy-side investing while developing expertise in one of the most sophisticated areas of the credit market.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct detailed fundamental credit analysis on global financial institutions, including banks, insurers and diversified financial companies. Build and maintain financial models assessing earnings, asset quality, liquidity, funding, capital adequacy and profitability.

- Evaluate securities across the capital structure, including senior unsecured debt, covered bonds, Tier 2 capital, AT1 securities and insurance subordinated debt. Produce thematic research on sector trends, regulatory developments and emerging risks across global financial markets.

- Support the identification of investment opportunities through analysis of issuer fundamentals, valuation, relative value and market technicals. Prepare investment memoranda and present recommendations to portfolio managers and the broader investment team.

- Monitor portfolio holdings and watchlist names, assessing developments that may impact credit quality, valuation or investment performance. Analyse the impact of macroeconomic,



regulatory and industry developments on the global financials sector.

- Undertake detailed reviews of financial results, regulatory disclosures, capital management initiatives and rating agency actions. Collaborate with portfolio managers in evaluating trade ideas, portfolio positioning and relative value opportunities.

- Contribute to the assessment of primary market opportunities, including current issuance and liability management transactions. Contribute to the ongoing development of research processes, analytical frameworks and investment tools.

The successful candidate will likely possess:

- 3-7 years' experience in credit research, investment analysis, banking, credit strategy, ratings, treasury or a related financial markets role.

- Strong understanding of banks, insurers and broader financial institutions.

Experience analysing subordinated debt, hybrids or bank capital securities will be highly regarded.

- Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills. Strong commercial judgment and investment acumen. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- High attention to detail and a genuine passion for financial markets.

- CFA Charterholder or progress toward completion viewed favourably.
