This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised administration or coordination qualified who is comfortable working with sensitive information, competing priorities and time-critical requests.
The successful candidate will form part of a specialist coordination team responsible for providing high-quality administrative and operational support across a busy and sensitive government environment.
This position is based in Canberra and must be performed onsite due to the nature of the work.
The role
Reporting to the relevant Director, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a high-volume coordination inbox and telephone service
- Receiving, tracking and coordinating sensitive and time-critical requests
- Coordinating access to secure facilities, including calendar and booking management
- Providing professional front-of-house and stakeholder service
- Maintaining accurate records and tracking operational tasking
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve requests and competing priorities
- Monitoring customer experience and supporting qualitative and quantitative reporting
- Assisting with process improvement, change and transformation activities
- Ensuring information and requests are handled with discretion, sound judgement and integrity
About you
You will be an organised and resilient professional with solid administration and customer service capabilities and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment. To be successful, you will demonstrate:
- Strong administrative and coordination experience
- Experience managing high volumes of competing and time-critical work
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and customer service skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- The ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement
- Excellent attention to detail and record-management skills
- The ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
- High levels of integrity, discretion and professionalism
- The ability to build productive relationships across a complex organisation
Experience within Commonwealth Government, Defence, national security, security coordination or another sensitive operational environment will be highly regarded.
Mandatory requirement
You must hold a current NV1 Australian Government security clearance at a minimum to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates holding a current NV2 clearance are particularly encouraged to apply.
Applications from candidates who do not currently hold the required security clearance cannot be progressed.
Contract details
- Classification: APS5 equivalent
- Location: Canberra, ACT
- Work arrangement: Onsite
- Employment: Full-time contract
- Duration: 12 months
- Extension: One additional 12-month extension option
- Commencement: As soon as practicable
