We're looking for a highly organised and forward-thinking portfolio strategic asset planning professional to coordinate the strategic asset planning, investment prioritisation and long-term maintenance programming functions across Council's Facilities Maintenance and Management Program within the Corporate Property branch.
This is a unique prospect to establish and lead a dedicated planning and programming stream that supports the long-term sustainability of Council's buildings, facilities, and workplaces. Working closely with operational teams, you will ensure maintenance programs, accommodation strategies and capital works plans are aligned to business priorities, asset performance, and future organisational needs.

- What assets need investment and when?
- What is the most productive way to schedule work across multiple facilities?
- Are we prioritising the right projects?
This newly established role creates a clear strategic planning and programming function within the Facilities Maintenance and Management Program. While operational teams focus on service delivery, customer requests, and project implementation, you will provide the critical planning, governance, scheduling, and analytical capability that underpins the entire program. You will lead the development of maintenance schedules and forward programs across Council's facilities portfolio, ensuring works are prioritised, coordinated, and aligned with asset lifecycle requirements, risk, budget, and service delivery outcomes. In this role you will:
- Analyse asset condition, performance, and maintenance data to identify priorities and future needs
- Develop long-term maintenance, renewal, and capital works programs
- Lead accommodation planning initiatives that support future workplace requirements
- Create clear plans,
schedules and investment roadmaps that support smart decision-making
- Challenge assumptions, identify risks and recommend practical solutions
- Use data and evidence to influence priorities and drive continuous improvement
- Work closely with leadership and operational teams to turn strategy into delivery
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a planner, organiser and enjoys finding order in complexity
- Has exceptional attention to detail
- Enjoys analysing information and identifying patterns and trends
- Can think strategically while still understanding operational realities
- Can make recommendations and influence outcomes
- Takes pride in building systems, processes and schedules that actually work.
Requirements: To be considered for and employed in this position, applicants must satisfactorily complete the following pre-employment screening checks, as applicable:
- A tertiary qualification in asset management, facilities management, property, engineering, business, or a related discipline (desired).
