About the Role
We’re Ready Industries, home to 1300TempFence, 1300SiteCam, 1300Hoarding and Australia’s leading site service brands.
We’re looking for a hands-on Assistant Branch Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day running of our Sunshine Coast branch across sales, operations, customer service and compliance.
Working under the direction of the QLD State Manager, you’ll manage branch staff and subcontractors, build customer relationships, coordinate daily operations and ensure the branch delivers safely and efficiently.
This isn’t a desk-only management role. You’ll be comfortable working the phones, getting into the yard, visiting customer sites and stepping in wherever needed to keep the branch moving.
Importantly, this role has been designed to develop into a standalone Branch Manager position as the Sunshine Coast branch grows and you develop within the role.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing branch customers.
- Grow branch house accounts across the Sunshine Coast.
- Prepare quotes, follow up opportunities and convert local enquiries into business.
- Work alongside the local BDM to deliver regional sales strategies and growth targets.
- Conduct customer and site visits to scope requirements and identify opportunities.
- Maintain accurate customer, quote and pipeline information within company CRM systems.
Branch Operations & Logistics
- Own the day-to-day running of the branch across hire, yard, transport and site works.
- Coordinate equipment deliveries, installations and pick-ups.
- Operate a forklift to load and unload trucks as required.
- Manage stock, fleet and yard presentation.
- Ensure equipment is maintained, repaired and ready for hire.
- Supervise branch staff and subcontractors, allocating work and setting daily priorities.
- Identify and escalate significant resourcing, performance or operational matters.
Customer Service & Administration
- Act as a key point of contact for customers via phone and email.
- Ensure customer enquiries are actioned promptly and professionally.
- Manage branch administration,
including contracts, day dockets, variations, off-hires and reporting.
- Maintain accurate customer and hire information within company systems.
- Resolve day-to-day customer issues and escalate significant matters when required.
- Work with Accounts to resolve applications, invoicing queries, damages and overdue accounts.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain high safety standards across the branch, yard and customer sites.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor installation quality and compliance.
- Manage subcontractor compliance, including inductions, licences, insurances, SWMS and documentation.
- Identify, report and rectify hazards, incidents and near misses.
- Ensure branch activities comply with WHS legislation and company procedures.
About You
We’re looking for someone who combines operational capability with a commercial mindset.
You’re comfortable taking ownership, making decisions and leading people, but you’re equally willing to jump on the phone, load a truck or attend a customer site when that’s what the branch needs.
You’ll ideally bring
- Experience within hire, construction, temporary fencing or a similar operational environment.
- Sales capability with confidence quoting, following up and asking for the business.
- Experience supervising employees and coordinating subcontractors.
- A practical, hands-on approach to branch operations.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- A good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, CRM and operational systems.
- A current Australian Driver’s Licence.
- A current Forklift Licence.
- A current Construction Induction Card (White Card).
You don’t necessarily need to have been a Branch Manager before. This could suit an experienced Assistant Manager, Supervisor, Team Leader, Hire Controller or Operations Coordinator who has strong commercial instincts and is ready to take greater ownership of a branch.
