Insurance Investment Solutions (IIS) is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Underwriter to join our growing Underwriting team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with limited/no insurance experience who is ready to develop their underwriting knowledge and build a long-term career in the insurance industry.

You will work closely with experienced underwriters who will support your development while giving you the opportunity to become increasingly involved in the underwriting process.

What you will bring

As an Assistant Underwriter, you will support the team across the day-to-day administration, including:

- Assisting with the preparation and assessment of new business and renewals
- Reviewing underwriting information and identifying where further information is required
- Preparing quotes, policy documentation, endorsements and renewals
- Liaising with brokers and building strong working relationships
- Supporting Underwriters with general administrative responsibilities
- Ensuring underwriting information and records are accurate and up to date
- Working within underwriting guidelines, delegated authority and internal procedures
- Developing your understanding of risk assessment, pricing and policy coverage
- Working collaboratively with our Underwriting, Claims and broader IIS teams




- Contributing ideas and looking for ways we can continually improve how we work

We are looking for someone who is keen to learn and ready to take a career in insurance. Ideally, you will bring:
- An interest in developing a career in insurance
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confidence in communicating with brokers, team members and other stakeholders
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
- A willingness to ask questions and learn from experienced team members
- A curious mindset and an interest in understanding the ‘why’, not just the process
- A cooperative approach and willingness to contribute to the wider team
- Sound computer and Microsoft Office skills
