Love cars, know your way around different makes and models, and want to build a career in the automotive industry without becoming a mechanic? Apprenticeships Are Us is seeking a motivated 1st Year Spare Parts Interpreter Apprentice to join one of our host employers in the Sutherland Shire, NSW.
This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a busy automotive parts environment while developing practical knowledge of vehicle parts, components, stock management, customer service and parts interpretation.
You'll earn while you learn and complete your AUR31020 Certificate III in Automotive Sales, building the skills and industry knowledge needed for a long-term career in automotive parts.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Spare Parts Interpreter Apprentice, you'll learn how to:
- Identify and source the correct automotive parts and components for different vehicles.
- Use vehicle information, parts catalogues and computer systems to locate the correct products.
- Assist with customer and trade parts enquiries.
- Provide accurate information on parts, availability and compatibility.
- Process orders and assist with customer transactions.
- Pick, pack and prepare parts for collection or dispatch.
- Receive, check and organise incoming stock.
- Assist with stock control and inventory management.
- Maintain organised parts and storage areas.
- Develop your knowledge of different vehicle makes, models and specifications.
- Learn automotive terminology and the functions of different vehicle components.
- Support the day-to-day operations of a busy automotive parts department.
About You
We're looking for someone who has a genuine interest in cars and enjoys learning how vehicles and their different components work. To be successful, you'll have:
- A genuine passion for cars and the automotive industry.
- An interest in automotive parts, components and different vehicle makes and models.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately identify information.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Confidence using computers and learning new systems.

- A reliable and professional approach to work.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A current driver's licence (P1 or above preferred).

More Than Just Selling Parts
Spare Parts Interpreting is about much more than working behind a counter. You'll learn how to understand what a customer or technician needs, identify the correct part and make sure it's suitable for the vehicle. Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll build valuable automotive, customer service, inventory and parts interpretation skills that can lead to opportunities across dealerships, parts departments, automotive suppliers and other areas of the industry.
It's an ideal career pathway for someone who loves cars but doesn't necessarily want to become a mechanic.
Eligibility
Applicants must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents to be eligible for this apprenticeship.
