VanDough Mackay – Bakery Assistant

About the Opportunity

We’re currently seeking enthusiastic, hardworking, and reliable Bakery Assistants to join our team in this brand-new store.

What We’re Looking For To succeed in this role, you should have prior experience in hospitality, food retail, or cafés. We’re looking for team players who are customer-focused, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Whether you’re just starting out or bringing years of experience, we offer ongoing training, growth opportunities, and a positive team culture in a busy, friendly bakery setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the bakery, including opening and closing
- Serve customers with a friendly, professional attitude
- Package and merchandise baked goods for takeaway display
- Prepare basic cold drinks (training provided)
- Maintain a clean and hygienic store environment
- Follow daily checklists and assist with restocking and inventory
- Uphold food safety and cleanliness standards at all times

Requirements

- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Robust attention to detail and cleanliness




- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
- Availability to work weekdays, weekends and public holidays on a rotating roster
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality is helpful, but not essential
- A food safety certificate is beneficial, but full training will be provided to the right candidates
