The Role Reporting to the Head of Treasury, Banking & Payables, this is a hands-on Banking Manager role overseeing a small team across Australia and offshore. You'll take ownership of banking operations, balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls, ensuring accuracy across a high-volume transactional environment while driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
This role would suit a technically strong banking, treasury or reconciliation professional who enjoys working with stakeholders, leading from the front and being part of a close-knit, energetic team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team responsible for banking and reconciliation activities.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure outstanding items are resolved promptly.
- Manage high-volume banking transactions, EFTPOS, cash and payment gateway reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies across multiple systems and data sources.
- Drive process improvement initiatives, automation opportunities and stronger controls.
- Partner with Finance, IT and operational stakeholders to resolve issues and improve performance.
- Monitor reconciliation integrity and ensure compliance with internal controls and reporting requirements.
- Support month-end processes, audits and treasury-related activities.
The Candidate
- Experience within banking, treasury, finance operations or financial control.
- Strong balance sheet reconciliation experience within a medium to large organisation.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs and analysis of large datasets.
- Experience working within a high-volume transaction environment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- A proactive, personable and down-to-earth approach with the ability to build relationships across the business.
- Previous leadership experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Experience working with offshore teams and reconciliation systems will be highly regarded.
- A continuous improvement mindset with the confidence to challenge processes and drive better outcomes.
