Work you're proud to put your name on, with plans built around the person, hands-on intervention in homes and the community, and reports written for change and outcomes. Outcomes Lab is clinically led, and there's a team behind you when a case gets tangled. Your week goes to the clinical work you're best at, with less of the fiddly stuff in the way.
Who we are
Evidence with Heart is our principle, and we mean both words. We're a small team where neurodivergence is welcomed and celebrated, in the people we support and in each other, and when something isn't working we say so and change it. We take the wins personally: a small shift in someone's week is a big day in ours.
We're a registered NDIS provider delivering psychology, neuropsychology and positive behaviour support across Melbourne, VIC, and Port Lincoln, SA, led by a Clinical Neuropsychologist and Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner.
The role
We are looking for an employee (4 to 5 days/w) or a subcontractor.
You'll carry a varied caseload, split between community visits and work from home. Hours are flexible, and regular team meetings and group supervision keep you connected wherever you're working. Cases are matched to the clinician, not just the calendar, and psychology, neuropsychology and behaviour support sit under one clinical roof, so a second opinion is a conversation away. That's the standard we're known for, and it's why coordinators trust us with their complex referrals.
We're not rigid about how support is delivered: we believe it's important to shape the work to the person in front of you. Where we do hold a hard line is formulation, reasoning and the evidence behind a plan. And there's a clinical team on the complex cases the whole way through. The big decisions are shared where needed.
What you get
- Supervision you'll look forward to: weekly one-on-one with a senior clinician while you settle in, then weekly to fortnightly as you hit your stride, plus weekly group supervision. And our director is always a phone call away
- A caseload that fits you: every referral is screened by a senior clinician before it reaches you, and declined if we're not right for the person. Capacity is measured in sustainable clinical hours, not a client count
- Flexible working: work from home (WFH), telehealth and community visits, with flexible schedule across your days
- A close-knit team: helping each other out is just how we work here
- Admin off your plate: our admin team takes responsibility for intake, funding checks and service agreements
- Your own admin, streamlined: caseload tracking, invoicing and the day-to-day run through simple systems that do the organising for you
- Tech included: laptop, phone and secure systems
- Kilometres reimbursed for employees, no logbook: travel is tracked automatically through our invoicing system
- Room to grow: career development, a funded PD allowance, predictable monthly bonus structure, and leadership opportunities
For psychologists If you're a generally registered psychologist, the role can blend psychology work into your behaviour support caseload, weighted to your interests and scope. We already deliver psychology and neuropsychology, so a mixed caseload is normal practice for us.
What we're looking for
You're registered with the NDIS Commission as a behaviour support practitioner (BSP) at core or proficient level, with at least a year of positive behaviour support (PBS) experience in the NDIS, ideally including complex presentations or high-risk work. A qualification in psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy, social work, behaviour analysis (including BCBA), nursing or education sits well with the role.
Strong communication is integral to the role. You can hold a room, you're comfortable coaching a sceptical family or support team through a plan, and you write clearly: reports shaped to the reader, with recommendations they can act on. You bring a thoughtful, flexible approach, and you care about neurodivergent people getting a fair go from a system that often fails them. And you want to keep getting better at this work.
You'll also need a driver's licence and a vehicle, a Working with Children Check, police check and NDIS Worker Screening (or eligibility to obtain them), and Australian work rights.
You’ll thrive here if you put people at the centre of your work, value collaboration while working autonomously, and stay curious about developing your practice.
Ready to apply?
We welcome applications from neurodivergent practitioners, First Nations people, and people with lived experience.
Employee/subcontractor role options will be discussed on application.
Note: This role is for experienced practitioners only - please don't apply if you are not registered with the NDIS as a PBS practitioner and have not held a role as a behaviour support practitioner before.
