BreastScreen Victoria (BSV) is seeking expressions of interest to serve on the Board as independent non-executive directors. We are particularly seeking candidates with significant expertise in digital and technology transformation and / or financial management and oversight.

- Selection Criteria Applicants will be shortlisted based on their experience and capability across the following areas:
- Governance, including understanding of directors’ legal, ethical, fiduciary and financial responsibilities
- Strategic thinking and decision making
- Risk management and compliance oversight
- Financial literacy
- Legal and regulatory expertise
- Executive leadership, people management, and change management
- Experience in the not-for-profit and / or public health sectors.

Formal Board governance qualifications (Australian Institute of Company Directors Course or equivalent) and experience on a Public or not for profit Board will also be highly regarded.

Overview of the Board:





The Board is responsible for providing strategic direction and robust governance oversight of BSV. Key responsibilities include:

- Ensuring effective governance and organisational performance
- Approving strategy and monitoring implementation
- Overseeing risk management and compliance
- Providing leadership to foster a positive organisational culture.

Board members are appointed by the Minister for Health for a three-year term, with the potential for reappointment for a maximum of two further terms. Board members are remunerated in accordance with Department of Premier and Cabinet Appointment and Remuneration Guidelines at 50% of the daily rate for Group B organisations. All Board members must pass a National Criminal Record, Insolvency and Trustee Service of Australia (ITSA) and Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) check before being appointed.
