Club Sunbury is seeking an enthusiastic, highly organised and motivated Bowls Coordinator to join our team and lead the coordination, development and growth of our bowls operations and programs.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for bowls who can combine robust administration and organisational skills with the ability to build relationships, develop new business and create engaging opportunities for our members, visitors, corporate groups and the broader community.
Club Sunbury is a leading bowls destination and the home of the BPL team Melbourne eXtreme. For the past three years, the Club has also fielded a highly competitive team in the Victorian Bowls League (VBL). For the 2026/27 competition season, Club Sunbury will field multiple SaturdayPennant sides, Midweek and Night Pennant teams, with our top side competing in Premier Reserve.
Our well-maintained turf greens are a preferred venue for numerous regional, state-wide and national tournaments, events and training camps. With a strong bowls culture and significant opportunities for further growth, this is a key position within the Club.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, and working closely with the Director of Bowls, the Bowls Coordinator will be responsible for the effective day-to-day coordination of bowls activities while identifying and developing new opportunities to grow participation, membership, events and revenue. The successful candidate will be a passionate advocate for bowls and Club Sunbury, with the energy and initiative to attract new participants and audiences through programs including Barefoot Bowls, corporate events, tournaments, schools and community activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the weekly schedule of bowls competitions, social activities and Barefoot Bowls bookings.
- Organise and coordinate Corporate Bowls Days, tournaments, regional and state events.
- Develop, maintain and promote the Club's annual bowls calendar,
including Club Championships.
- Coordinate the administrative and operational requirements of high-profile events, including Diamond Jack, VBL and other major tournaments.
- Manage and maintain BowlsLink and Club booking systems.
- Develop initiatives and promotional activities that increase participation, membership and revenue.
- Maximise Club exposure through social media, digital communication and other promotional channels.
- Develop and implement membership campaigns and advertising opportunities.
- Promote bowls to new audiences, including schools, local community groups, businesses and corporate organisations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Club members, volunteers, visiting players, bowling clubs, regional bodies and state associations.
- Provide regular reports and updates to the Board, Committee, members, selectors, coaches and through Club communication channels including the Member Newsletter and Team App.
- Communicate match and tournament results to relevant regional and state organisations.
- Liaise with Club staff and contractors to ensure bowls requirements are efficiently communicated and delivered, including catering, green preparation and staffing/rostering.
- Ensure bowls equipment, playing areas and facilities are maintained and ready for use.
- Assist with the setup and presentation of the indoor green and undertake minor associated cleaning duties when required.
- Represent Club Sunbury professionally and actively contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the Club's bowls department.

- Confident engaging with members, volunteers, new players, businesses, community groups and the general public.
- Highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
- An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- A team player who can work effectively with Club management, staff, volunteers, coaches, selectors and committees.
- Proficient with IT, booking systems and digital communication platforms.
- Experienced in, or willing to learn, social media and promotional activities.
- Flexible and available to work evenings, weekends and during major events when required.
- An experienced bowls player who is willing and able to represent Club Sunbury in the Saturday Pennant competition.
Qualifications & Requirements To be considered for this position, you will possess:
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and CPR certification preferred, with training available for the successful applicant where required.
- Experience using BowlsLink will be highly regarded.
- Strong computer and administrative skills.
- A demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the game of bowls.
