We’re looking for an experienced Business Analyst with a robust data and analytics background to join a major transformation program in Perth.
This is an opportunity to work across business and technology teams, helping translate business needs into practical data and technology outcomes. The role will suit someone who is comfortable operating in complex environments, asking the right questions, working with data, and helping organisations turn information into better processes and decisions.
About the role
You’ll work as part of a transformation program, supporting business analysis activities across requirements, process improvement, data and technology.
Key responsibilities will include
- Working with business and technology stakeholders to understand and document business requirements.
- Analysing business processes, data flows and information requirements.
- Translating business needs into clear functional and data requirements.
- Supporting the design and delivery of transformation initiatives.
- Working with data teams, technology teams and business SMEs to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Investigating data issues, dependencies and impacts across business processes and systems.
- Developing requirements, process maps, user stories and other BA artefacts as required.
- Supporting data-driven decision making and helping stakeholders understand the implications of data and technology changes.
- Contributing to testing, validation and implementation activities.
What we're looking for We’re looking for a Business Analyst first and foremost, with a genuine interest in data and analytics.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Strong Business Analysis experience within transformation, technology or complex business environments.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience gathering, analysing and documenting requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- The ability to work comfortably between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Exposure to Microsoft data platforms and tools.
- An understanding of data structures, data flows, reporting, analytics or data platforms.
- Experience working with data to investigate problems and support business outcomes.
Mining experience – highly desirable Mining experience would be an excellent advantage, particularly candidates who have worked with operational, production or telemetry data.
Experience with historian-type data, mine-site operational systems, equipment telemetry, time-series data or similar operational datasets would be particularly valuable.
You don't need to be a data engineer or a pure technical specialist — we're looking for someone who understands how operational data is generated, used and translated into meaningful business requirements and outcomes.
The opportunity
This is an initial 3-month contract supporting a significant transformation program in Perth, with the opportunity to work across business, data and technology domains.
If you’re a BA who enjoys getting into the detail of data, understands complex operational environments and can bridge the gap between business and technology, we’d like to hear from you.
