Business Services Accountant | Tax & Advisory Exposure | Direct Partner Mentoring

Our client is a respected boutique public practice accounting firm with a loyal client base of SMEs, family groups and high net worth individuals. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Business Services Accountant to join their collaborative team and take ownership of a diverse portfolio of clients. This is an opportunity to work directly with experienced Partners, gain exposure to complex client structures and broaden your skills across accounting, taxation and advisory services.

The Opportunity

You'll manage client relationships from start to finish and be involved in delivering a broad range of accounting and taxation services. Working within a supportive and highly experienced team, you'll gain exposure to a variety of businesses, industries and technical matters while developing your advisory capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships and sole traders
- Prepare income tax returns across a broad client portfolio
- Prepare BAS, IAS and other compliance obligations
- Manage client relationships and day-to-day enquiries
- Work directly with business owners and decision makers
- Assist with tax planning and year-end advisory matters
- Prepare and review workpapers and reconciliations




- Manage Division 7A, CGT and general taxation matters
- Liaise with the ATO on behalf of clients
- Manage workflow, deadlines and client expectations
- Assist with mentoring and supporting junior team members
- Identify opportunities to add value to clients beyond compliance

About You

- Approx. 4-8 years Public Practice experience
- CA or CPA qualified, studying or near completion
- Strong Business Services & Tax experience
- Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns
- Exposure to Trusts, Companies and Family Groups
- Strong communication and client management skills
- Ability to manage multiple jobs and deadlines
- Proactive, organised and solutions-focused
