An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced pharmaceutical leader to join a highly respected global healthcare organisation as part of the leadership team and take ownership of a significant commercial portfolio in primary care. The role combines strategic leadership, people development, commercial excellence, marketing innovation and business growth. Leading solid portfolio marketing teams and an established sales force, you will support growth for future success.

Create and implement strategy and work in collaboration with ANZ commercial leadership peers. This role will be based from Melbourne.

Reporting to the Managing Director, your key responsibilities include:

- Provide leadership, coaching and management of the sales and marketing functions.
- Develop and implement Australian sales and marketing strategy and specific brand/indication operational plans
- As part of the ANZ Leadership Team, develop & deliver the business plan and manage P&L;
- Develop a deep understanding of the external business environment, competitors and emerging trends to influence and drive sales in a highly competitive environment
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with key industry partners
- Manage change and support for key projects in digital innovation
- Partner with HR, managing talent planning, performance management, recruitment and retention for sales and marketing teams.

To be successful in this role you will bring:

- Proven track record of commercial success and a deep understanding of the Australian pharmaceutical industry.
- Extensive experience in leading marketing teams




- Experience leading sales teams at National level is advantageous
- Strong background in Pharmaceuticals, with Primary Care and/or Established Brands highly regarded
- Experience in forecasting, managing a budget and responsibility for P&L;
- Strong analytical skills, business acumen and communication skills
- High credibility and impact with ability to communicate at senior level
- Ability to add value and constructively challenge the status quo
- Intellectual capacity to assimilate complex information, assess business critical key issues and then develop appropriate strategies and tactical plans with the ability to influence
- High degree of proactive initiative with a sense of urgency
- Experience working with global teams
