Fire Security AS is the sole manufacturer of the proprietary FireSec FS5 cable coating and specialists in life extension and rejuvenation of damaged electrical cables. Fire Security AS leads the way for fire protection engineering standards of electrical cables.

We have successfully applied our products, skills, and knowledge to upgrade electrical cables technically for oil and gas industry clients at many facilities around the world. We have extended the lifetime of electrical cables and lowered the risk exposure to our clients facilities, both offshore and onshore, substantially.

We are seeking applicants for full time positions as Cable Repair & Fire Protection Engineering Technicians. The candidates should be familiar and have experience with Fire Security’s engineered cable repair solutions and products.

Responsibilities, tasks and duties:

-Conduct fire protection engineering on-site inspection to evaluate high risk areas where vital electrical and signal cables are routed (including industrial and engineering equipment, and electrical distribution systems on offshore oil and gas facilities).

-Assist in calculation of electrical cable repair and application cost (cost analysis).

-Produce detailed report including findings,



detailed data on the density of electrical cables located in each location, the condition of the cables and identification of priority hazard areas.

-Repair, restore, maintain and upgrade damaged cables following FS repair procedures and engineering methodologies, in accordance with FS standards and procedures.

-Application of proprietary Fire Security engineered ablative FireSec FS5 cable coating following FS application procedures.

-Maintain and distribute daily reporting on QC, Progress and HSE.

Positional requirements (qualifications, skills, work experience):

-IRATA Rope Access certified

-Experienced and certified for working offshore

-Experience with FS methodologies and products

-Experience with handling and repairing aging and UV degraded cables using FS products or similar

-Solid computer literacy

-Knowledge of electrical and signal cables routing connecting industrial and engineering equipment, and electrical distribution systems, particularly on offshore oil and gas facilities

-Familiarity with IEC-60331 (International Electrotechnical Commission) standards

Pay: $90,000.00 – $140,000.00 per year
