About the role

Cook Constructions Pty Ltd is seeking a talented Carpentry 3rd, 4th year Apprentice or Tradesman to join our growing team. This is a full-time position based in Mulgrave, NSW 2756. In this role, you will be working on residential and commercial construction projects, developing your carpentry skills under the guidance of experienced tradespeople.

Whether you are progressing through your apprenticeship or are an established tradesman, this position offers the opportunity to contribute to quality construction work whilst building your expertise in the carpentry field. You will be working on-site at various project locations in the local area.

Key responsibilities

- Constructing, installing and repairing timber frameworks, floor joists, roof structures and other wooden components on residential and commercial projects
- Reading and interpreting building plans, technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate and compliant work
- Measuring, marking and cutting timber and other materials using hand tools and power tools with precision
- Assembling and installing doors, windows, stairs, cabinetry and other fitted components
- Ensuring all work meets relevant building codes, safety standards and quality requirements
- Maintaining work areas in a safe and organised manner, adhering to workplace health and safety protocols
- Collaborating with other tradespeople, site supervisors and the project team to ensure timely project completion
- Using and maintaining carpentry tools and equipment responsibly and safely
- Assisting with site preparation and cleanup activities as required





What we're looking for

- Current enrolment in a 3rd or 4th year carpentry apprenticeship, or completed carpentry apprenticeship with relevant work experience
- Sound knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials and construction methods relevant to residential and commercial building
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in carpentry work
- Ability to read and interpret building plans, technical drawings and specifications accurately
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship
- Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and a commitment to safe work practices
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work efficiently on-site
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other tradespeople and site staff
- Physical fitness and capability to perform manual labour and work at heights where required
- Current or valid driver's licence is advantageous
- Relevant qualifications such as White Card (Construction Induction Card) or equivalent safety certification
