Our client is currently seeking a caseworker with experience supporting vulnerable children and families, particularly those with additional needs. This role is ideal for someone looking to step back from the intensity of child protection - while still making a meaningful difference to the lives of children and families!

Details

- Based in Western Sydney with local travel required
- Full-time, 8am-4pm
- Fixed term until December 2027
- $81-89k + super + salary packaging (increase your take home pay!)
- School-based hours with flexible work-from-home during school holidays!
- Professional development and group/individual supervision provided
- No on-call, no home visits!

In this role, you will manage a caseload of approximately 30 children, providing case management, support sessions, advocacy, and referrals to specialist services. You will work closely with families to address barriers to educational participation, while liaising with schools, service providers, and community supports. This is not an intensive, child-protection role. Instead, you'll have the opportunity to work collaboratively with children and families, supporting them through challenges that impact school engagement.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct strengths-based assessments, planning, and action plans
- Provide casework support and coordinate referrals to specialist services
- Maintain regular contact with families, monitoring progress and adjusting plans as needed
- Engage with local service providers and community networks
- Support children and families experiencing complex challenges, including low engagement with education

- Contribute to program evaluation, training, and coaching initiatives
- Manage administrative tasks, online databases, and reporting requirements

Requirements

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Community Services or a related field
- 2-3 years' experience in case management, ideally with children or families, including those with additional needs
- Solid communication, organisational, and data management skills
- Ability to work proactively, ask for support when needed, and apply trauma-informed, person-centred approaches
- Full driver's licence and access to a car for local travel
