Position Overview

TOROS Steakhouse is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef de Partie to join our professional kitchen team in Mount Barker.

The successful candidate will manage an allocated kitchen section and prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards, including premium steaks, ribs, grilled meats, burgers, pizzas, sides and other menu items.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, cook and present dishes to consistent quality and presentation standards.
- Manage an allocated kitchen section during preparation and service.
- Prepare steaks, ribs, grilled meats, burgers, pizzas, sauces and side dishes.
- Complete daily mise en place and maintain efficient kitchen operations.
- Monitor food quality, portion control, cooking temperatures and presentation.
- Assist with stock control, food storage, deliveries and minimising wastage.




- Supervise and support junior kitchen staff where required.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, HACCP and workplace safety.
- Work closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and front-of-house team.
- Assist with menu development, daily specials and kitchen improvements.

Qualifications and Experience

- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 1+ year of relevant commercial kitchen experience.
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie, Chef or similar position.
- Strong grill and meat preparation experience is highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Strong organisation, communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
