Chef – Full-Time

Location: 12 Doney Street, Narrogin WA 6312

Salary - $82,499 per annum plus superannuation

38-hours week

Key Responsibilities:

The successful Chef will be responsible for:

- Planning and developing menus in consultation with management.
- Preparing, cooking and presenting a wide variety of dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Developing and improving recipes, menu items and food presentation.
- Monitoring the quality of dishes throughout preparation and service.
- Managing food preparation and coordinating kitchen activities during service.
- Ordering food, ingredients and other kitchen supplies.
- Monitoring stock levels, food costs, portion control and wastage.
- Checking the quality and freshness of ingredients and food products.
- Catering for special dietary requirements and customer requests where required.
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
- Ensuring kitchen equipment and food preparation areas are maintained appropriately.
- Supervising and coordinating Cooks, Kitchen Hands and other kitchen staff where required.




- Working closely with management and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have

- Relevant trade qualifications in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
- Certificate III and/or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, Diploma of Hospitality Management or an equivalent relevant qualification is desirable.
- At least 1 year of relevant professional experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
- Experience preparing a variety of cuisines and menu items.
- Experience in menu planning and recipe development.
- Strong organisational, communication and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.
