About the role

You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for civil and structural projects, from the initial tender review through to submission and handover.

Key responsibilities

- Reviewing tender documents, drawings, specifications and scopes of work
- Completing detailed quantity take-offs
- Preparing labour, plant, material and subcontractor cost estimates
- Obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Identifying project risks, exclusions, opportunities and cost-saving alternatives
- Preparing tender submissions, clarifications and supporting documentation
- Working closely with the Director, engineers, supervisors and project teams
- Attending tender briefings and site inspections when required
- Maintaining estimating records, rates and supplier information
- Assisting with tender handovers following successful awards

About you

- Previous estimating experience within civil construction, structural concrete or infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of concrete works, formwork, reinforcement and associated civil works
- The ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong quantity take-off and cost-planning skills




- Sound commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Confidence dealing with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tender deadlines
- Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Excel
- A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field is desirable
