Role Description This full-time, on-site Civil Foreman / Site Supervisor role is based in Sydney, NSW. The position oversees day-to-day site operations, including coordinating crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.
Responsibilities include interpreting plans and specifications, organizing resources and plant, monitoring progress, and resolving site issues promptly. The role involves enforcing WHS requirements, conducting site inspections, maintaining accurate records, and reporting to project management on milestones and risks.
The Civil
Foreman / Site Supervisor also liaises with clients, engineers, and stakeholders to support effective communication and successful project outcomes.
Qualifications
- Strong background in civil construction or demolition supervision, with experience managing site teams and subcontractors.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Skills in scheduling, resource allocation, and coordinating plant and equipment on active sites.
- Sound understanding of WHS legislation, secure work practices, and risk management on construction sites.
- Effective communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to guide and motivate diverse teams.
- Competence in site reporting, record-keeping, and use of basic project management or construction software.
- Relevant trade qualification or certificate in civil construction, building, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Current driver’s license; construction induction (White Card) and other relevant tickets (e.g., plant operation, first aid) are advantageous.
- Experience in shoring systems (piling, capping beams, anchoring, shotcreting) and working on residential, commercial, or industrial projects is desirable.
