About the role

The Senior Specialist - Workforce Planning, Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) is accountable to the Executive Director, People and Culture and works closely with the Executive Director, New Women's and Children's Hospital (New WCH) Project to lead the development, implementation evaluation and continuous improvement of WCHN’s complex workforce strategy and planning agenda.



The role provides specialist expertise and guidance for major workforce planning initiatives including the workforce transition and commissioning requirements associated with the New WCH Project.

Key duties of the role

- Lead complex and sensitive workforce assessments across multidisciplinary teams to analyse current and future workforce capability
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic workforce planning frameworks, strategies and forecasting models to optimise workforce capability
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, evidence-based practice and quality assurance across WCHN workforce planning projects and programs
- Lead strategic workforce planning initiatives, using workforce data, analysis and continuous improvement to align workforce capability with organisational and service delivery needs.

Skills and Experience

- Advanced leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders effectively
- Extensive experience leading complex workforce planning projects and programs within a healthcare setting
- Demonstrated experience in workforce planning, data analysis, research and workforce design to support strategic decision-making
- High-level specialist knowledge of national and international standards in Workforce Planning and workforce design principles and contemporary practice.
