What you'll be doing The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS Diabetes Educator coordinates and delivers high quality nursing care to patients/clients in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia’s National Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses, criteria for CNS2 as outlined in the Public Hospital Nurses and Midwives (State) Award 2015 and the Policies and Procedures of the MoH and MNLHD. About You

You present yourself as an experienced and highly capable diabetes nursing professional who brings advanced clinical judgement, strong leadership and a deep commitment to safe, evidence‑based care. You hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (Division and have completed post‑graduate qualifications in diabetes, supported by more than three years of full‑time equivalent experience working directly within the specialty. Your practice reflects a mature understanding of complex diabetes management across inpatient and community settings, including Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes and the broad spectrum of complications associated with the condition.

You apply advanced clinical expertise with confidence, making independent decisions that support high‑quality patient outcomes. Your assessment skills are refined and responsive, allowing you to identify risks,



escalate concerns appropriately and tailor interventions to meet individual needs. You demonstrate strong clinical leadership, contributing meaningfully within multidisciplinary frameworks and helping shape coordinated, outcome‑focused care.

Your ability to collaborate is matched by your capacity to guide others, offering direction that is grounded in contemporary best practice and a clear understanding of service priorities. You communicate with clarity and purpose, using information technology, written documentation and interpersonal communication to convey key messages, identify issues and support shared understanding. Your interactions with patients, families and colleagues are professional, thoughtful and aligned with the standards expected of a senior clinician in diabetes care.

You show a sustained commitment to excellence in nursing practice, actively engaging in professional development and contributing to the education of others. Your approach reflects both personal accountability and a broader dedication to strengthening clinical capability across the service. You maintain a valid unrestricted NSW driver’s licence and demonstrate the flexibility required to work across diverse settings, ensuring continuity of care and responsiveness to patient needs.
